Not sure who runs the Facebook page, but jokes about Down Syndrome aren’t funny. They’re taseless and offensive. Making fun of people with intellectual disabilities isn’t funny. When I commented on the post, my comment was almost immediately deleted. No vulgar language. No rudeness. I just stated that I expect more from OPPO and that Down Syndrome Awareness Day is in two days.

Actually there is. I’m going to reach out to the owners/moderators of the Facebook page and discuss things. Since we own the Oppositelock name and logo we have the right to tell them to change their name (or risk shutdown). That’s why Oppositetalk on Facebook is called Oppositetalk. It was originally called Oppositelock as well, but we had them change their name.

There was a time in oppo history when straight up porn was posted on the regular. Some people spoke up to end it and so it was ruled out. He was among a few that made a big fuss about it and eventually got banned and left a moronic manifesto video behind.

On the Facebook page he got removed as a mod because when a mod asked people to stop using the word “fag” he went on a tirade about how he would ban people for complaining about words. He’s like some kinda anti-PC edgelord that never matured part the age of 8

Every other offshoot of Oppositelock (Facebook, G+) is from some other event. G+ was when we switched to Kinja if I remember correctly; so was Facebook. When we banned NSFW posts without merit people made CigarLounge and other offshoot Kinjas so they could post boobies and basically have the same thing but with less rules. Now CL is a catch-all for boobies (rare), politics (constant) and personal posts that people may not want to put here. Bullshift was a thing for a little bit too.

I was involved in the creation of Bullshift. I honestly don’t remember why we did it...I think it was meant to be somewhat satirical of all the drama that happened at the time? It’s been so long, and I know I was never all that committed to it and eventually stayed focused on the main Oppo.

Oppo’s had its ups and downs, but I’m pretty pleased with where it is now.
